Factory Relocation and Port Construction
The project is associated with Columbia’s strategy to encourage foreign investment in its ports and industrial complexes by offering investment incentives through its Free Trade Zone, and emphasizing “tariff-free” exports to the USA through the Columbia-USA Free Trade Agreement.
Description
The Brisa Port is located in Northern Columbia (Caribbean Coast) near the Panama Canal, with close proximity to Florida. The plan is to further construct and expansion to the established port and build a 13.5km industrial city on private land within the Free Trade Zone that will be designed to match Chinese needs in the Western Hemisphere. The Free Trade Zone Area will include two industrial parks, and complimentary services will include High and Low Density housing, as well as hotel, health, education research, sport and leisure facilities. The managing agency is Brisa Free Zone and Port, which will work in coordination with investor companies.
