On 5 April 2016, Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (SRCIC)held a roadshow in Tbilisi, capital of Georgia. During the road show, international cooperation projects, for instance, eSilkroad, Silk Road International Development Fund and SRCIC Think Tank Association were introduced to Georgian business community. And SRCIC also signed a MOU with Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry(GCCI).
In the meantime, President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili met separately with the delegation of SRCIC. In the conversation, President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili and Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili spoke highly of the vision and action of the Belt and Road Initiative that China promotes. Also, they both indicated that Georgia would strongly support the practical cooperation between GCCI and SRCIC, hoping to build stronger links and closer collaboration between SRCIC and the Georgian business community, so as to realize the Social-Economic Development Strategy of Georgia (“Georgia 2020”) and to turn Georgia into a transit center for the Eurasian logistics.
